Jorge Ibargüengoitia and Las muertas: generic and stylistic relationships This paper develops three main points: it describes briefly the themes and resources in Jorge Ibargüengoitia’s narrative according to the very own classification that author suggested for his work; it places him on the literary and cultural mexican maps, i. e. it reviews his context, the editorial groups, the male and female writers which he interacted with; 45 years after its first edition, it reviews Las muertas: its creative process, construction, literary styles and genres related to the novel, and some appreciations from the specialized critique are quoted; other mexican and foreign literary works are mentioned too, from before and after, that share some kind of kinship with this novel. …”
